Piland of Wakefield, retired feed and seed salesman and the husband of the late Mrs. Kate T. Piland died Mar. 31, in a hospital. He was a member of Wakefield Baptist Church and was born in Winton, N.C. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Kathryn P. Brett of Winton and Mrs. Genevieve P. Major of Norfolk; six sisters, Mrs. Georgie P. Cahoon of Ahoskie, N.C.; Mrs. Jessie P. Midgett of Coinjock, N.C.; Ms. Jimmie P. Lassiter of Windsor, N.C., Mrs. Elsie P. Stephenson of St. Augustine, Fla., Mrs. Mildred P. Nelms of Chesapeake, and Mrs. Thelma P. Kimball of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Hollomon Brown Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Herman O.
