Born June 5, 1933, he was the son of the late Lonnie Judson and Ella Mae Rollings Pond. Jill worked in the family business, Pond Brothers, Inc. and later owned and operated Pond Electrical. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Hudson Pond, Judson and his twin brother, Homer R. "Jack" Pond; and his sister, Elizabeth Goodrich. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Katherine Morris "Kitty" Pond; son, Dempsey Harold Pond; daughter, Terri Pond Billups and her husband, Robert; grandson, Robert Drew Billups; sister, Josephine Pond Stephenson; and numerous nieces, nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at Wakefield United Methodist Church, 205 W. Church St., Wakefield, Va. 23888, from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Wakefield Cemetery, with Rev. Glenn Riggs officiating. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Iris Robinson and Tonya Clayborne, for the compassionate care Jill received.
