MARY C. POND

  RICHMOND - Mary C. Pond, 87, a native of Sussex County and a former resident 
of Wakefield, died Tuesday in the Hermitage.

  She was a former owner of operator of Pond Shoe Store in Wakefield.  She was 
a member of Wakefield United Methodist Church.

  Survivors include a sister, Helen P. Ryan of Martinsville.

  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today in Purviance Funeral Home, 
Wakefield, by the Rev. James M. Tongue.  Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery.

  Memorial donations may be sent to the Wakefield United Methodist Church 
building fund.
