Mrs. Parker was a member of Wakefield United Methodist Church. She was active in her community involved in many different organizations such as Wakefield Women's Club, Association of the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities, Wakefield Foundation, Tidewater Academy, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Surry Garden Club. Mrs. Parker was a very loving caring family oriented person who always made sure everyone's needs were met before hers. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher Fredrick Loehr and Ruth Sharpe Loehr; brothers, Alfred and Henry Loehr; sister, Bernice Hargrove and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Reese Parker. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 65 years, Oscar Eugene Parker, Jr.; her children, O.E. "Chip" Parker III and his wife, Ann, Christopher T. Parker and wife, Vicki and Sandra P. Rickmond and husband, R.E. "Gene"; grandchildren, Dustin, Michelle, Park, Shawn, Reese, Casey and Dale; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Irma Mae Parker and numerous nieces and nephews. All services will be private. The family will receive friends at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tidewater Academy Memorial Fund, P.O.
