ROBINSON, 81, AREA NATIVE, TAKEN BY DEATH WAKEFIELD - Mrs. Josie Carroll Robinson, 81, a resident of Wakefield for the past 60 years, died Thursday at her home after an illness of three years. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a member of Rocky Hock Methodist Church and was the widow of Irvin Robinson. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Lottie Mae Robinson of Wakefield and Mrs. Margaret R. Hearn of Newport News; two sons, Irvin V. [sic. J.] Robinson and Herman G. Robinson, both of Wakefield; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Annie R. Purcell of Richmond and Mrs. Mary Maul of Roanoke; two stepson, Robert C. Robinson of Port Charlotte, Fla. and John Robinson of Meridian, Miss.; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Joyner of Colonial Heights and Mrs. Selma Barlow of Rescue; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Purviance Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Edward B. Owen officiating.
