Born April 26, 1924, she was the daughter of the late George Newsom Branch Sr. and Mamie Rebecca Clark Branch. She was a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed music and playing the piano and was an avid china painter and teacher. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Ray Rickman, brothers, Ishmuel E. Branch and John "Spottie" Branch; and sister, Frances B. Brittle. She is survived by her son David W. Rickman and his wife, Nancy, and Barry A. Rickman and his wife, Joanne; grandson, Daniel S. Richman; brother, George N. Branch, Jr. and his wife, Jackie; sister-in-law, Ann Branch; brother-in- law, Donald W. Rickman and his wife, Arline; nieces and nephews, Danny Mancini, Linda McLendon, Wayne Brittle, Ishmuel "Eddie" Branch, Bobby Branch, Glenn Rickman, Rebecca Ann Ringler, Patricia "Trish" Gross, Faye Cook, and Debbie Devincenzi; grandnieces and nephews as well as many close personal friends. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at the Wakefield United Methodist Church with Pastor G.C. Branton III officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wakefield United Methodist Church Parsonage Account, P.O. Box 87, Wakefield, VA 23888. The Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son is serving the family.
