Rickman, 72, a resident of 108 Wilson Ave., Wakefield, Va., died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at Waverly Health Care, Waverly. A native of Washington, DC, Mr. Rickman was a retired vice-president of the National Bank of Washington, DC. He currently was branch manager of LINSCO/Private Ledger, Wakefield. He graduated from Ben Franklin University, Washington, DC, in 1951 and was a World War II veteran of the United States Air Force. After moving to Wakefield in 1981, Mr. Richmond became an active member of the local community. He was a member of the Wakefield United Methodist Church, the Wakefield Community Hunt Club, the Wednesday Night Kicker Club and was a Hunter Safety Instructor. He was a founding Board Member of the Wakefield Foundation for the Arts and had been a former member of the Waverly Rotary Club and the Wakefield Ruritan Club. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Rebecca Branch Rickman, of Wakefield; two sons, David W. Rickman, Barry A. Rickman; his mother, Inez W. Rickman; a brother, Donald W. Rickman; a grandson, Daniel S. Rickman, all of Northern Virginia; two nephews, a niece and a host of friends. He was predeceased by his father, Amos R. Rickman. A memorial service, with military rites, will be held in Wakefield United Methodist Church, Wakefield, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Randolph Duncan. Memorial donations may be made to Wakefield Foundation, Wakefield, VA 23888 or to the Wakefield Vol. Fire Department. The family received friends at the residence.
