WAKEFIELD - George Benjamin Rogers, Jr., 54, a lifelong resident of Surry County, Va., passed away Sunday, April 6, 2003, at his home. Born March 29, 1949, he was a son of the late George B. Rogers Sr. and Nell Cowling Rogers. He was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church and a former employee of Wakefield Farm Service. George served his country with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Davis of Norfolk, Va.; his brother, Larry Rogers of Wakefield, Va.; two nieces, Valarie Davis and Rochelle Gomez; and one nephew, James Rogers. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, at Wakefield Cemetery, Wakefield, Va., with the Rev. Jim Becker officiating.
