Born in Sussex County on July 24, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Bernice Everett Cowling Sr. and Edna Earl Branch Cowling. She was the wife of the late George Benjamin Rogers Sr. Mrs. Rogers had worked as a nurse's aide and was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church where she served as a member of the United Methodist Women's Association. She is survived by two sons, George B. Rogers, Jr. and Larry Everett Rogers, both of Wakefield; a daughter, Anne Carolyn R. Davis of Norfolk; two brothers, B.E. Cowling Jr. and Albert C. Cowling, both of Waverly; three sisters, Frances C. Lowe, and Dorothy C. Moody, both of Wakefield and Edna E. Schwichtenberg of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Rocky Hock United Methodist Church, Wakefield, by the Rev. Don Chapman. Interment will be in Wakefield Cemetery.
