Richardson, aged 53, long a valued employee of the Suffolk Peanut Company, died suddenly last night, after an illness of a few minutes, at his home, 161 South Saratoga street. Mr. Richardson was in his usual health yesterday and appeared the same last night upon retiring, the fatal attack coming without warning. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sallie L. Richardson, and five children, two daughters, Miss Estelle Richardson, and Miss Margaret Richardson, of Suffolk; three sons, Russell E. Richardson, of Washington, D.C.; Marshall B. Richardson, Luther Richardson, of Suffolk; also three sisters, Mrs. E.L. Drewry, of Sussex county; Mrs. P.S. Emory, of Surry county; Mrs. G.P. Pond, of Suffolk; two brothers, A.F. Richardson, of Suffolk, and E.P. Richardson of Sussex county; several nieces and nephews. His father, C.C. Richardson, of Sussex county, also survives. Mr. Richardson was a member of the Woodman of The World, also of the Junior Order of American Mechanics. The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the Spring Hill Christian Church, in Sussex county, conducted by Dr. W.W. Staley, assisted by the Rev. F.C. Lester. His parents are also buried there. D.Cert. 6448 (Suffolk #73) His father (1844 - 1931) was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in the Surry Light Artillery. He escaped from Appomattox C.H., was captured Apr. 15, 1865 at Dinwiddie C.H., and paroled Apr. 20, 1865.
