He was a lifelong resident of Wakefield and was in the mercantile business many years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. May Bridgers Richardson, a half-sister, Mrs. T.W. Stroud, of Richmond; three half-brothers, E.M. Richardson, of Dendron; Thomas, of Richmond, and Junius Richardson, of Portsmouth. Funeral services will be conducted at the grave in Wakefield Cemetery at 3 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. W.G. Bates, of the Wakefield Methodist Church, assisted by the Rev. M.W. Butler. His widowed father, Rives Briggs RICHARDSON, 2m. Eugenia M. BARRETT, 14 Mar 1878 in Southampton Co. (Southampton Co. MB3:277) According to his military headstone application, Rives served in Co. K, 6th Va. Infantry, CSA; d. 14 Jun 1906; buried in a private family cemetery, in or near Wakefield. The 1900 Census (Waverly Dist., Sussex Co.) gives b. Sep 1843. His step-mother (1859-1934) is buried in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
