All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JOAN ELIZABETH RAWLINGS PETERSBURG - Joan Elizabeth Rawlings, 12, died Sunday afternoon March 6, in a non-collision car accident on U.S. 460 at the Inter-state 95 under-pass here. A native of Harrisonburg, Joan was a daughter of Charlie C. and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Laine Rawlings of Petersburg, formerly of Waverly. She attended L.L. Beasley Junior High in Prince George County and was a member of Waverly Christian Church. Besides her parents, surviving are a sister, Cynthia Ann Rawlings; two brothers, Charles E. Rawlings and Raymond G. Rawlings, all of the home; and a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lester T. Rawlings of Waverly. A funeral service was held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. John F. McCloy and the Rev. Karl France. Burial was in Waverly Cemetery. Pallbearers were Herman Ritter, James Crummett, Eddie Stewart, Ronnie Stewart, Ken Malren and Jimmy Dickerson.
