She was a native of Kenbridge and a retired legal secretary in the family law practice. Mrs. Renney was a member of Wakefield United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years. She was also a member of the Wakefield Woman's Club. Survivors include: husband, James W. Renney; two daughters, Nancy R. Hutcherson, Troy, Va., Betty Ann R. Sharp, Charlottesville; one son, James W. Renney, Jr., Wakefield; two sisters, Joyce S. Kurtze, Richmond, Barbara S. Herndon, Kenbridge; one brother, Joseph Leon Skinner, Richmond; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Jim, and Abigail Hutcherson, Jordan, Elizabeth and Rebecca Renney, Conrinne Sharp. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 30, at 2:00 p.m. in Wakefield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Randy Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Wakefield Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 29, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Wakefield United Methodist Church, and suggests memorial contributions may be made to Wakefield United Methodist Church, 205 W. Church St., Wakefield, VA 23888, or the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 4634, Charlottesville, Va. 22905, or Tidewater Academy, Wakefield, 23888.
