All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ALBERTA GAYNELL "NELL" CHAPPELL SAVEDGE Mrs. Nell Chappell Savedge, 69, well beloved resident of Wakefield, died Monday, September 17 [sic; Tuesday, September 18*], at her home after an illness for many months. She was the wife of the late William Henry Savedge, and the daughter of the late Littleton James, and Rebecca Ellis Chappell of Sussex County. She was a member of the Wakefield Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for many years. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. P. Bevington West, of Norfolk; two sons, William Henry Savedge, jr., of Exmore and James N. Savedge of Wakefield; five grandchildren, Suzanne and William H. Savedge, 3rd, of Exmore, James N. Savedge, Jr., William B. Savedge, and Miss Catherine Savedge of Wakefield; two brothers, Claude L. Chappell, of Homeville, and J. Wallace Chappell of Tucson, Ariz. Funeral services were held at graveside, Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Wakefield Cemetery, by Rev. Edgar Woods of Ettrick and Rev. Douglas M. Carter, pastor of the Wakefield Baptist Church. Active pallbearers were J.N. Barker, Dr. E.C. Nettles, William Peebles, Slade West, W.A. Stephenson, Jr. and Jack P. Bain. Alberta Gaynell "Nell" (CHAPPELL; Mrs. William H.)
