Born September 20, 1944, she was a daughter of the late James N. Savedge and Fay B. Savedge. She was a graduate of Randolph Macon Women's College and resided in Williamsburg, Va. for 50 years. She worked for the Colonial Williamsburg, Va. for many years and at Chippokes State Park. Catherine was active in APVA, especially researching Smith's Fort Plantation in Surry. She contributed to Surry Historical Society and enjoyed assisting her mother in genealogical research. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. Schlesinger; and a brother, James N. Savedge Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, William B. Savedge (Sarah) and his family, of Wakefield, Va.; step-children, Christopher W. Schlesinger and Susan B. Schlesinger, of Boston, Mass.; and a niece, Ann S. Mayes (Michael) and family, of Murfreesboro, Tenn. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2019, at Wakefield Cemetery, with Rev. Glenn Riggs officiating.
