MILDRED ANNETTE HOLT SCOTT 

  WAKEFIELD - Mrs. Mildred Annette "Top" Holt Scott, 66, of Clay Street, died 
Tuesday at her home.

  She retired as a dental assistant for Dr. E.C. Nettles of Wakefield in 1982 
after 27 years of service.

  She was a member of Wakefield United Methodist Church and taught in its 
children’s department for 38 years.  She was a member of the United Methodist 
Women, the administration board and the Council on Ministries.

  She was past vice president of the Wakefield Women’s Club.

  She was a member of the Wakefield Homemakers Club and the Sussex County 
Homes Demonstration Club.

  From 1954 to 1958, she coached the girl’s basketball team at Wakefield High 
School.  She was also a former troop leader of the Wakefield Girl Scouts.

  Survivors include her husband, Ralph T. Scott; two daughters, Mrs. Ann S. 
Balance of Bunn, N.C., and Mrs. Betty S. Morris of Richmond; a son, Ralph T. 
Scott, Jr. of Wakefield; her mother, Mrs. Clara Adcock Holt of Wakefield; two 
sisters, Mrs. Linda H. Griffin and Mrs. Eleanor H. Goodrich, both of 
Wakefield; three brothers, M.M. Holt of Sedley, and J.A. Holt Sr. and Earl W. 
Holt, both of Wakefield; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchildren.

  A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. today at Wakefield United Methodist 
Church by the Rev. E. Lee Chattin and Eugene Teslovic.

  Burial will follow in Wakefield Cemetery.

  The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of 
contributions to the Wakefield United Methodist Church Building Fund.

  Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is in charge.
