"Sonny" Scott, Sr., 79, retired Wakefield town sergeant, died Thursday, Sept. 30. Scott was a member of Wakefield Baptist Church and a native of Southampton County. He is survived by two daughter, Betty S. Morris of Richmond and Ann S. Balance of Bunn, N.C. ; a son, Ralph T. Scott, Jr., of Richmond; three sisters, Hazel S. Futrell of Newsoms, Jenny Lee S. Grisson and Mildred S. Ward of Courtland; a brother, Henry Scott of Courtland; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Sunday at Purviance Funeral Home by the Rev. Douglas Cotter. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery. Memorial to Arthritis Foundation Virginia Chapter, 565 Southlake Blvd., Richmond 23236.
