RUTH CLAIBORNE WISEMAN STEWART 

  Ruth Wiseman Stewart, 91, died Monday, August 13, 2001 at Waverly Healthcare 
Center in Waverly, Va.  She was the daughter of the late Richard A. and Bessie 
W. Wiseman, and wife of the late Edward Lee Stewart.  Mrs. Stewart was an 
accomplished poet with many of her works published.  She retired from the 
Virginia Department of Transportation's Richmond office in 1975 and was a 
member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Hopewell, Va.  She is survived by 
three daughters, Elinor S. Antis of Wakefield, Dorothy A. Stewart of 
Greenbelt, Md. And Rose S. Ford of Prince George County, Va.; one brother, 
Roland A. Wiseman of Prince George County; one half-sister, Bessie S. Hart 
of Clearwater, Fla.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.  A 
graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2001 at 11 a.m. 
at Rocky Hock United Methodist Church Cemetery, Wakefield.  The family will 
receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on Tuesday evening 7 to 
8:30 p.m.  Memorial donations may be made to the Waverly Volunteer Rescue 
Squad, Waverly, Va., 23890
