CARRIE JUDKINS SLADE 

  Mrs. Carrie Judkins Slade, age 86, a resident of Dendron, died Saturday 
morning.  She was the widow of Garnie C. Slade, a member of the New Lebanon 
Christian Church. She is survived by a nephew, John T. Savage; a great-niece, 
Mrs. J. Shelton Steward III; and a great-nephew, James E. Savage, all of 
Elberon.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 1978 at 11 a.m. 
in the Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, Va.  Burial will be in the 
Wakefield Cemetery.  The family suggest memorials to your local rescue squad.
