JOHN EDWARD SMITH 

  COLONIAL HEIGHTS - John Edward Smith, 56, of Colonial Heights, passed away 
on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at his residence.  He was the son of the late 
Jesse T. and Sara Barlow Smith.  He was preceded in death by a brother Thomas 
W. Smith.  Mr. Smith was a member of the Tri-City Coin Club and the Richmond 
Coin Club.

  He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Smith; a stepdaughter, Robin G. Klein 
and husband John of Littleton, Colorado; a sister, Donna Y. Martin of Colonial 
Heights, two grandchildren, Jay and Alisa Klein, an aunt Lena B. Bish of 
Prince George, a niece Jessica B.Tipton of Chester and a nephew Bret A. Martin 
of Dinwiddie.

  The family receive friends Saturday, December 8, 2007, from 1:00 to 2:00 
p.m. at the Colonial Heights chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & 
Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with a prayer at 2:00 p.m.  Interment 3:30 p.m. at 
Waverly Town Cemetery, Sussex, Virginia.
