He was born in Surry County and was son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Myra Conway Scarborough. He was a 30-year employee of the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation, Waverly office. He was member of the Spring Grove United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the husband of the late Elsie S. Scarborough. He is survived by two daughters, Linda S. Norris of Ashland and Martha S. Seward of Elberon, a brother, S.A. Scarborough of Spring Grove; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the graveside, Waverly Cemetery, on Sunday, August 9, by the Rev. William T. Tatum.
