LUCILLE STRICKLAND SORRELL 

  Lucille Strickland Sorrell, 69, of Wakefield passed away Sunday, 
February 16, 2014 at Sentara Obici Hospital.  She attended Wakefield 
Baptist Church and was retired from Surry Nuclear Power Plant.  She 
was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Daisy Lewis Strickland; 
sisters, Inez Fipps, Ann Stockton, Bernice Hanway, Francis Cook and 
Gracie Duke; and brothers, Clayton Strickland and D.J. Strickland.

  Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Robert Dennis Sorrell; 
daughters, Wanda J. Mitchell and Sherry J. Dunn; seven grandchildren and 
two great-grandsons.

  The family received friends on Wednesday, February 19, 2014.  A funeral 
service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at R.W. 
Baker & Co. Funeral Company, Wakefield Chapel with Rev. Frank Carter 
officiating.  Burial followed in Wakefield Cemetery.  Memorial contributions 
may be made to Wakefield Fire Department, 155 Fleetwood Ave. Wakefield, VA 
23888.
