She was a native of Albemarle County and a daughter of Frank K. Towberman of Richmond. She was employed as a checkout clerk for Pope’s Market in Wakefield. She was a member of Wakefield United Methodist Church. Miss Towberman was one of several area youths involved in forming and managing the Wesley Lane Memorial Fund. Other survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Vickie T. Curl, Miss Penni E. Towberman, and Miss Leslie Ann Towberman of Wakefield, and Mrs. Teresa L. Taranovich of Richmond; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Carl Smith of Chase City; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. L.L. Towberman of Wakefield. The funeral was held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. James M. Tongue. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery. Carl Smith of Chase City; and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. L.L. Towberman of Wakefield. A funeral will conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. James M. Tongue. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home, and request expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to a preferred rescue squad.
