She lived with her parents the first few years of her life and upon their deaths in the 1890's, she was sent to the Baptist Orphanage at Salem, Virginia, along with her two younger brothers and sister, and to whom she was the only mother they ever knew. In due time, she graduated from the Salem Public Schools and was kept at the Orphanage beyond the usual age of departure as an aide in helping to supervise her younger sister and brother. One brother died a few months after coming to the orphanage. Returning to Farmville in her late teenage years, she lived with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Fallwell. While attending State Female College, she met and married Russell Aubrey Wingo on February 7, 1905. He was the son of Mr. Elmer Everette Wingo and Betty (Cosby) Wingo. Russell was born September 13, 1877. A daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Wingo, was born on February 5, 1906. Russell Aubrey was a conductor on the narrow-gauge railroad running from Farmville to Bermuda Hundred. It was not long before he became ill and he went to Texas for his health, but died there on July 13, 1909. Bereft of her husband, Will returned to Virginia and, after a sojourn of a year in Lynchburg, she returned to Farmville and took a bookkeeping position with Duval Motor Company, and which position she held for many years after her remarriage in 1918 to Mr. DeMarkous LaFayette Traylor, a merchant, who died in 1947. Will spent her latter years with her daughter in Wakefield, Virginia. Willie Lelia died on June 1, 1960.
