She was a native of Wakefield and was the wife of Philip Bevington West. She was retired as a teacher from the Franklin, Alexandria, and Norfolk school systems. She was a member of St. Bride's Episcopal Church and of the Col. William Allen Chapter, NSDAR, Smithfield. Other survivors include two brothers, William H. Savedge Jr. of Exmore and James N. Savedge of Wakefield. A funeral was held Sunday in Wakefield Cemetery by Dr. Owen T. Kelly. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery, with Cox Funeral Home in charge. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Virginia affiliate of the Diabetes Association. Rebecca Gaynell (SAVEDGE; Mrs. Phillip B.)
