All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ PHILLIP BEVINGTON WEST NORFOLK - Phillip Bevington West, 83, a native of Norfolk and the husband of the late Gaynell Savedge West, formerly of Wakefield, died Oct. 15. He was a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Virginia and Norfolk- Portsmouth Bar Associations, and was retired from the law offices of Find, Fine, Legum and Fine. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served on the staff of the Judge Advocate General in Syracuse, N.Y. He was also a member, lay reader and treasurer of St. Bride's Episcopal Church, a 62-year member and past worshipful of Doric Masonic Lodge 44; a 50-year member of Ionic Royal Arch Chapter 46; a past president of Toastmaster's Club 686; and a member of Grice Commandery. Survivors include a sister, Jean West Shields of Norfolk. A funeral was held Oct. 18 in Cox Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to Veterans of Foreign Wars, on the Boys' Home in Covington.
