DAMSEL VIRGINIA "ZUDDIE" LITTLE WHITMORE 

  WAKEFIELD - Damsel Virginia "Zuddie" Whitmore, 93, died January 6, 2004. 
Born June 20, 1910 in Sussex County, VA., she was the daughter of the late 
James Exam and Lucy Simmons Little.  Zuddie was preceded in death by her 
husband of 59 years, Samuel Aubrey Whitmore, Sr.

  Survivors include a son, Samuel Aubrey Whitmore, Jr. and his wife, Carol, 
of Wakefield; two grandsons, Jeffrey Ellis Whitmore and his wife, Sue, of 
Peterborough, Ontario, and Gregory Joel Whitmore and his wife, Lisa, of Stony 
Creek, VA; a great-granddaughter, Sydney Faye Whitmore of Stony Creek, VA. 

  Zuddie was a homemaker and was a very fine seamstress.  Flowers and yard 
work were her favorite pastime.

  A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2004, in 
Wakefield United Methodist Church by the Rev. G.C. Branton.  Burial will be 
in Wakefield Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at 7:30 p.m. today at 
Wakefield United Methodist Church and other times at the home of Samuel A. 
Whitmore, Jr.  Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, has charge of arrangements.
