She was the daughter of the late Lemuel Ernest Worrell and Nannie Griffin Worrell and mother of the late Willie Grady "Bill" Whitmore, Jr. who died in 1968. Mrs. Whitmore was retired from the Home Telephone Company of Wakefield; a former member of the Wakefield Woman's Club; and a member of the Wakefield Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her husband, William Grady Whitmore, Sr. Her family includes daughter-in-law, Jane Dickerson Niethamer of Fairfax, two grandsons, Jason and Ryan; her devoted niece, Grace and Sain; and two nephews, Tommy Clark and V.L. Worrell, Jr. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary W. Clark, Nannie W. Magee and Elizabeth W. Harris; and her brother, V.L. Worrell, Sr. Funeral services were held on July 21 at 3 p.m. at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, with the Rev. Jim Keer, the Rev. Doug Cotter and the Rev. Ed Griffin officiating. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery beside her son.
