Born Nov. 15, 1927, in Chesterfield, S.C., he was the son of the late Thomas Harvey Wilson and Mary Elizabeth Strothers Wilson. Mr. Wilson proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps; was an employee of the Virginia Department of Agriculture and a member of Wakefield Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rosa Pique Wilson. He is also survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Morris and husband Ken, of Patterson, Mo., Mary Frances Holmes and husband, Kyle, of Franklin, Va.; two sons, Thomas Wayne Wilson and his wife, Susan of Windsor, Va., James Arden Wilson of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Jeb Morris, Lorelei Morris, Jobil Morris, Aaron Holmes, Owen Holmes, Justin Holmes, Nathan Holmes, and Alexandra Wilson; three great-grandchildren; and brother Raymond Wilson of Raleigh, N.C. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, at Wakefield Baptist Church, Wakefield, Va., with the Rev. Jim Kerr officiating. Interment will follow in Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home Chapel, Wakefield, on Saturday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Wakefield Baptist Church Building Fund, Wakefield, VA. 23888.
