FRANK LOUIS WORRELL 

  Frank Louis Worrell, 62 a resident of the Winchester area for the past 
twenty-five years, died Sunday, August 28, 1988 in Shawnee Springs Nursing 
Home in Winchester.  He was a native of Wakefield and belonged to Wakefield 
Baptist Church.  He was the son of the late Ethel Vance Branch Worrell and 
is survived by his father, Vernard Laydon Worrell, Sr., a brother, V.L. 
Worrell, Jr., both of Wakefield.  He retired in 1975 after twenty-five years 
of service as Personnel Manager at Mount Weather Government Facility in 
Upperville, Va.  He was a former engineer at Langley Field in Hampton.  He 
rode and trained hunting and steeple chase horses all his life.  He was a 
member of the Blue Ridge Hunt Club, Middleburg, Va., US Army veteran of WWII 
and was held as a Prisoner of War in Germany from 1944 to 1945.  A funeral 
service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 1988 in Purviance Funeral 
Home, Wakefield by Rev. Parker Hooper.  Burial will be in the Wakefield 
Cemetery.  Family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield 
Tuesday, August 30 from 7 to 9 p.m.  Memorial donations may be made to a 
favorite charity.
