Born Feb. 11, 1953, he was a son of the late Dallas Graham Evans and Hazel West Riddick. He had been a truck driver and mechanic with R.A. Goodrich Trucking of Wakefield for 20 years. He loved working on his John Deere tractors and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Debbie Corbitt Warren; daughter, Tammy Michelle Warren of Wakefield; brother, George Evans and his wife Sue of Portsmouth; uncle, William Thomas West of Suffolk; nephew, Steve Evans of Chesapeake; several great-nieces and -nephews; his beloved dog, "Spunky," and his favorite cat, "Mouse." A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Wakefield, with the Rev. Mark T. Habecker officiating. Interment will follow in Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The article states his father was buried in Happy Home Pentacostal Holiness Church Cemetery. His father, a brother-in-law & a cousin were killed 19 Jan 1958, when their car plunged over the side of the bridge at Nurney's Siding, and all three were thrown from the car.
