This is to certify that Mr Jesse Jordan has permission to obtain his
marriage license. Given under my hand and pen this ninth day of Nov.
1831.

Know all men by these presents that we Jesse Jordan and David G.Forts
are held and firmly bound unto John Floyd Governor or Chief Magistrate
of the Commonwealth of Virginia and his successors in office in the 
just and full sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, payment whereof
well and truly to be made to the said Governor and his successors in
office for the use of the Commonwealth. Sealed with our seals and dated
this 10 day of November 1831.
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above
bound Jesse Jordan is shortly about to intermarry with Martha C.Baugh
now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage then the
above obligation to be void or else to remain in full force and virtue.
