Marriage Record of William Rivers & Elizabeth Vaughan
(Marriage Bonds 1754-1777, Reference 1773-14, Sussex Co.VA.)

Know all men by these presents that we William Rivers & William 
Yarbough are held & firmly Bound to our Sovereign Lord George the third
King of Great Britain etc. in the full sum of fifty pounds current 
money to be paid to our Sovereign Lord the King his Heirs & successors
to which payment well & truly to be made we bind ourselves our Heirs
Ex'ors. & Administrators firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals
& dated this 16th day of December 1773.

WHEREAS there is a Marriage suddenly intended to be solemnized between
the above bound William Rivers & Elizabeth Vaughan spinster daughter of
Thomas Vaughan of the County of Sussex. NOW the condition of this 
obligation is such that if there shall be no Lawful objection thereto,
then the above obligation is to be void or else to remain in full force
& virtue.
