IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN July 8th 1762 I John Barker of Sussex County being of sound and disposing mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same, do make ordain constitute and appoint this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say I give my Soul to God that gave it, and my body to the earth to be decently interr'd in hopes of a joyful Resurrection through the mediation of my blessed Saviour, and as to what worldly goods it hath pleased Almighty God to commit to my care I give and dispose of in the following manner. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my son Drury Barker the tract of Land I now live on being two hundred and sixty five acres more or less, to him and his Heirs forever. I likewise give my son Drury five head of Cattle the choice of all the stock, and ten head of Hoggs the choice of all the Hoggs, one feather bed furniture the choice of all the beds and furniture, and two pots the bigest and the least, all which I give to my son Drury, to him and his Heirs for ever. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my son Joseph Barker all my clothes. My will and desire is that all the rest of my personal Estate, except twenty Shillings, which I give to my Daughter Elizabeth, with what I have already given her, shall be equally divided amongst my three children, Drury, Joseph, and Mary Barker. ITEM. I desire my Estate may not be appraised, and I do constitute and appoint my son Drury Barker my whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament. The afore written last Will and Testament of John Barker deceas'd was presented into Court by Drury Barker the Executor therein named who made oath thereto according to Law and the same was proved by the oaths of William Dashly and John Dashly the witnesses thereto and by the Court ordered to be recorded.
