IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN the seventeenth day of February in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and eighty one I Thomas Bryan of the County of Sussex being sick & weak in body but of perfect mind and memory do constitute make and ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner and form following. IMPRIMUS I give and bequeath to my Daughter Peggy Bryan my plantation and all my land thereunto belonging and if my said Daughter Peggy Bryan dies without Heir lawfully begotten of her body, my desire is that my sd. land should be equally divided between my two daughters Martha Bryan and Elizabeth Hines. I also give to my sd. daughter Peggy Bryan my negro Cloe & her three children Bette Charles and Phana to her & her Heirs. I also give to my sd. daughter Peggy Bryan two feather beds & furniture and to take her choice of all my beds. I also give to my daughter Peggy Bryan one horse & to take her choice. I also give to my daughter Peggy Bryan half my stock of cattle. I also give to my daughter Peggy Bryan half my stock of sheep. I also give to my sd. daughter Peggy Bryan all the remaining part of my household furniture excepting my other beds. ITEM. I give the other part of my sheep to my two daughters Martha Bryan & Elizabeth Hines to be equally divided between them also my desire is that the other part of my cattle be equally divided between my two daughters Martha Bryan and Elizabeth Hines, also my other horses to be to be divided between my two sd. daughters Martha Bryan & Elizabeth Hines. I also give to my sd. daughter Martha Bryan my negro Isam. ITEM. I give to my grand Daughter Mary Hill twenty pounds. ITEM. I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Hines my negros Anaca and Harry & my desire is that my daughter Peggy Bryan should have my side saddle. I also give to my daughter Peggy Bryan all my stock of Hogs. I also give to my daughter Peggy Bryan all my plantation utinsils and the remaining part of my estate to be sold and equally divided among my three children Martha Peggy and Elizabeth Hines & I do nominate & appoint Hartwell Hines my whole & sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year above written. The last Will and Testament of Thomas Bryan deced. was exhibited in Court by Hartwell Hines the Executor therein named proved by the oaths of Thomas Presson John Kennibrugh & Thomas Marsengale the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of the said Executor who made oath according to Law & with Thomas Presson & Benjamin Lanier his securities entered into and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of two hundred thousand pounds conditioned as the law directs Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probat thereof in due form.
