IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Elizabeth Caton of the Parish of Albemarle in the County of Sussex being weak of body but of sound mind and memory blessed be God do this seventh day of Februry in the year of our Lord 1776 make & ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following (to wit). IMPRIMIS I give my Soul to God that gave it trusting in the merits of my ever blessed Lord and Saviour Christ for the remission of all my sins and my body I bequeath to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named. ITEM. I give unto my Son Benjamin Wyche at the time he shall arrive at lawful age one silver watch value ten pounds Virginia Money also a mourning ring value forty shillings to be procured at the expence of my Estate by my Exor. herein after named. ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Peggy Wyche all my stock of horses cattle sheep and hogs together with all my household and kitchen furniture and all the rest of my Estate of what nature or quallity soever & wheresoever found. LASTLY I do appoint my beloved Brother Thomas Peete whole and sole Executor of this my Will & Testament and desireing that my Exor. may have the care of my children and take the management of the said Estate into his hands at his own discretion. The last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Caton deced. was presented into Court by Thomas Peete the Exor. therein named who made oath thereto as the Law directs and the same was proved by the oaths of John Carter and Isaac Bendall two of the witnesses thereto and by the Court ordered to be recorded and on the motion of the said Exor.
