IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Elizabeth Carter of Sussex County being in a low state of health but sound of memory and mind do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament. IMPRIMIS I give to my Cousin Elizabeth Carter ten pounds to be raised out o my Estate and my wearing cloak. I give to my Son John Simmons and John Hall Son of Willis all my late husbands wearing apparel to be equally divided between them. All the rest and residue of my Estate real and personal of what nature soever I give to my Daughter Elizabeth Carter and her heirs but if my said Daughter should die before she comes to age or is marryed in that case I give all my said Estate to be equally divided between my Brother John Daniel and Sister Amey Temple and their heirs also I appoint my Brother John Daniel Executor of this my last Will. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 19th day of February 1773. The last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Carter deceased was presented in Court by John Daniel the Executor therein named who made oath thereto as the law directs and the same was proved by the oaths of Peter Williams and William Cook two of the witnesses thereto and by the Court ordered to be recorded and on the motion of the said Executor Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
