IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Joshua Harthorn of the County of Sussex in the Parish of Albemarle being sick in body but of sound & disposing mind & memory do make this my last will & testament in manner & form following that is to say I give & bequeath unto my Son Isham Harthorn one black mare called black bonny & one feather bed to him & his heirs forever that I have already given but not taken possession. ITEM. I give unto my Son John Harthorn & to his heir one bay mare called Furry. ITEM. I give unto my Son Joshua Harthorn one cow & calf to him & his heir. ITEM. I give unto my loving Wife not herein before given away bequeath all my cattle hogs horses and land the, and residue of Estate as long as she lives and no longer and then after my loving wifes death to be sold & equally divided between my seven children Isham Harthorn John Harthorn Francis Harthorn Joshua Harthorn Elizabeth Harthorn Sarah Harthorn Rebeckah Harthorn to their heirs for ever I desire that my estate may not be appraised. LASTLY I appoint my loving wife whole & sole Executore of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me heretofore made. The last will and testament of Joshua Harthorn deced. was presented into Court by Hanah Harthorn the Executrix therein named who made oath thereto as the law directs and the same was proved by the oaths of John Doby & Peter Harwell two of the witnesses thereto and by the Court ordered to be recorded; and on the motion of the said Executrix, Certificate is granted her for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
