Will of Jesse Ivey(Will Book M, page 150, Sussex Co.VA.) IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Jesse Ivey of Sussex County considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory blessed be God Almighty for the same do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. IMPRIMIS I lend to my Wife Sarah Ivey all my estate of every kind both real and personal during her natural life, or as long as she lives my widow; and at her death or marriage I bequeath my estate as follows. ITEM I give and bequeath unto my two daughters Susannah Easter and Sarah the tract of land whereon I now live, containing two hundred acres be the same more or less to be equally divided betweem them and their heirs forever. I also give unto my daughter Susanna Easter one Negro girl named Sophia,one cow and calf,one feather bed and furniture, one walnut table, one large chest, one small chest, four barrels of corn, two hundred weight of pork, two ewes and lambs and one sow and pigs to her and her heirs forever. ITEM I give unto my daughter Sarah one negro boy named Simon James, one cow and calf, two ewes and lambs, one sow and pigs, one feather bed and furniture, one walnut table, one small chest, one corner cupboard, four barrels of corn and two hundred weight of pork to her and her heirs forever. ITEM I give unto my two sons David Anderson and Jarratt an equal interest in my two negro men Hartwell and John and each one feather bed and furniture to them and their heirs forever. ITEM I give to my son Asberry one negro girl named Mary to him and his heirs forever. ITEM I lend unto my daughter Elizabeth Jennings during her natural life one negro woman named Creasy and at the death of my said daughter Elizabeth Jennings I give the said negro woman Creasy and her increase not above given away to my grand daughter Sally Ann E.P.H. Jennings and my grand son Littleberry R.L. Jennings to be equally divided between them, to them and their heirs forever. ITEM I give unto my son Asberry all the residue of my estate not before given away to him and his heirs forever. LASTLY I do appoint my two sons David Anderson and Asberry Executors to this my last Will and Testament, and it is my desire that no security be required of them and no appraisement be made of my estate.
