IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I John Lashley of Sussex County being in perfect sound health, sense and memory thanks to almighty God for the same and knowing tis appointed for all men once to dye do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and forme as followeth first of all my soul into the hands of God that gave it me and my body to the ground to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discresion of my executors hereafter named and for what worldly goods it hath pleased God to bless me with all my desire is they should dispos'd of as followeth. ITEM. I give unto my son William Lashley all the land that I hold I give to my said son William Lashley to him and his heirs forever. ITEM. I give unto my said son William Lashley one negro named Aggathe and her issue to him and his heirs forever. ITEM. I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Lashley one feather bed and furniture. ITEM. I give unto my daughter Amey Lashley twenty shillings. ITEM. I give unto my grandson John Lashley my fidle not to be sold and after all my just debts is paid. ITEM. I give unto my said son William Lashley my horses cattle hogs and sheep. ITEM. I give unto my said son William Lashley two feather beds and furniture and all my other household stuff. ITEM. I do hearby appoint my said son William Lashley and Willott Roberts to be my hole and sole executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal this ninteenth day of January 1767. The last Will and Testament of John Lashley one of the executors therein named who made oath thereto as the law directs of the same was pruved by the oaths of Harmon Bishop and Patrick Lashley, the witnesses thereto and by the Court ordered to be recorded; and on the motion of the said executor, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
