IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN Thomas Lashly of the County of Sussex being in perfect mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same, and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as followeth: ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my son Patrick Lashly one hundred and twenty three acres of land belonging to the old field where Joel Lashly formerly did live, all which I give to him and his heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my son Patrick Lashly one bay mare called Bonnee, and one gun and a set of shoe makers tools, to him and his heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my son Howell Lashly one hundred and twenty three acres of land on the lower side of my plantation beginning at the main black water thence out to the line that divideth my land and John Lashly's, and one feather bed and furniture and one beaver trap and all my carpenters tools, all which I give to him and his heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Lashly all the remaining part of my land, and one gun and my coopers tools, all which I give to him and his heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lydia Lashly three pounds, to her and her heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lucy Lashly three pounds to her and her heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Jane Lashly the use of the plantation whereon I now dwell with one hundred acres of land belonging thereunto during her natural life or widowhood. ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Jane Lashly all the remaining part of my estate which I have not already given away, to her and her heirs forever. ITEM. I desire that my estate may not be appraised. ITEM. I do hereby appoint William Lashly, and Drury Barker whole and sole executors of this my last Will and Testament. IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twentieth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty five. The aforewritten last will and testament of Thomas Lashly deced. was presented into the Court by Drury Barker one of the executors therein named who made oath thereto according to law, and the same was prov'd by the oaths of Harmon Bishop and Nathl. Barker two of the witnesses thereto, and by the Court ordered to be recorded, and on the motion of the said executor certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form. Teste A.
