Will of Drewry Magee - 1796

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Drewry Magee of Sussex do make and declare 
this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say. 
First I bequeath my Soul into the hands of almighty God hoping and 
believing a remission of Sin & by the merits and mediations of Jesus 
Christ and my body I commit to the earth to be buried at the  
discretion of my Exors. hereafter named and my wourldly estate I give 
as follows. I leave my hold estate unto my loving wife Forten Magee 
During her life or widowhood and after her death I give and devise my 
said estate as hereafter mentioned. 
Item - I give and bequeath unto my Son Jordan Magee one feather bed  
to him and his heirs forever. 
Item - I give and bequeath unto my Son Miles Magee one feather bed to 
him and his heirs forever. 
Item - I give and bequeath unto my Son William Magee the land whereon 
I now live containing one hundred acres more or less and one feather 
bed to him and his heirs forever. 
I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth one negro boy named 
Peter and one feather bed to her and her heirs forever. 
I desire my wife Forten Magee to sell part of my estate to pay my 
debts and after deceased the remainder part of my estate to be sold 
and equally divided among all my living children. 
And Lastly I do nominate and appoint my loving wife Forten Magee and 
my Son John Magee executor and executrix of this my last Will and 
Testament revoking all former Wills and bequeaths by me made. IN 
WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seals this 26th day of 
August in the year of our Lord 1796. 
Signed declared and published by the above named Drewry Magee and for 
his last Will and Testament in presents of the underwritten persons 
who at his request and in his presents attested the same.

At a Court held for Sussex County the 1st day of December 1796. 
The last Will and Testament of Drewry Magee decd. was presented into 
Court by Forten Magee the exie. therein named the same was proved by 
the oaths of Willie Magee and Clements Magee the witnesses thereto 
and ordered to be recorded, and on motion of said executrix who made 
oath and gave bond according to Law, Certificate is granted her for 
obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
