IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Ralph Megee of the County of Sussex being weak of body but of sound mind and memory thanks to Almighty God for the same do make & ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner & form following. IMPRIMIS. The use of the plantation whereon I now dwell with all the land there unto belonging I leave unto my loveing wife Ann Megee as also three Negro's namely Tillis Luey Milley and my personal estate of what nature or kind soever during her natural life & after her dec'ed. I give and devise my said estate as hereafter directed. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my son Robert Megee one Negro girl named Annica to him & his heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my son Drury Megee one Negro girl named Dafney to him and his heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my son William Megee providing he should not marry Martha Gilliam widow of Charles Gilliam dec'ed. one Negro girl named Hannah one bed and furniture and one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my son Ralph Megee one Negro girl named Milley one bed and furniture and one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my son Willy Megee one Negro wench named Lucy one bed and furniture one cow and calf and the plantation I now dwell on containing one hundred eighty five acres be the same more or less to him and his heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my son James Megee one Negro boy named Sam one bed and furniture one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Andrews one Negro boy named Frank to her and her forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Gilliam one Negro boy named Randolph to her and her heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Megee one bed and furniture and one chest to her and her heirs forever. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha Ashley ten pounds current money. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my son David Megee five shillings current money. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my son John Megee five shillings current money. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my Grand Children here after named Mary Hines David Megee son of David Cary Megee son of John Megee one Negro wench named Fillie to them and their heirs forever. ITEM. It is my will and desire that after the death of my wife Ann Megee all the remainder part of my estate may be equally divided between my children hereafter named Robert Drury William Ralph James and Elizabeth Megee also Sarah Megee Ann Andrews Martha Ashley to them and their heirs forever. ITEM. I do constitute and appoint my loving wife Ann Megee and Jesse Williamson my hole and sole executor to this my last Will and Testament revoaking and disannul every Will heretofore made by me rettiefeing and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of May one thousand seven hundred and seventy. The last Will and Testament of Ralph Megee Dec'ed. was presented into Court by Ann Megee and Jesse Williamson the Executors therein named who made oath thereto as the law directs and the same was proved by the oaths of Hinchia Gilliam and Lewis Dunn two of the Witnesses thereto and by the Court ordered to be recorded and on the motion of the said exe'or.Certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate in due form.
