In the Name of God Amen  I Thomas MUMFORD of the County of Sussex being Sick of 
body but in perfect Sence & good Memory and desireous to settle my Earthly 
affirs and knowing all men die when it shall please Almighty God to call do 
Constitute  appoint and order this my last Will and Testament in manner and form 
following 
first I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it me and my 
Body to be decently and christianly buried at the discression of my Executors 
hereafter Nam'd in hopes of its resurrection to Eternal Life through the merits 
of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer and as for my Earthly Estate after my 
just debts is paid I give and bequeath as followeth. 
Item  I give and bequeath to my Wife Mary MUMFORD after my just debts is paid 
all my Estate Real and Personal  my desire is that my beloved Wife do Sell all 
my Lands as Lies in Sussex County and desire is that my Estate may not be 
appraised nor my Executors compelled to give Security and I do appoint my loving 
Wife Mary MUMFORD my whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament 
In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal this 25.th day of 
February 1763

          At a Court held for Sussex County the 17:th day of March 1763 
The last Will and Testament of Thomas MUMFORD dece'd was presented to Court by 
Henry BAILEY (the Executrix in the Will nam'd being dead Since the testator) who 
made oath thereto according to Law and the same was proved by the oaths of 
George NEWELL, William HANCOCK & Thomas BAILEY the witnesses thereto and by the 
Court ordered to be Recorded & on the motion of the said Henry BAILEY 
Certificate is granted him for obtaining a letters of Administration of the 
Estate of the of said Tho.s MUMFORD with his said last Will and Testament 
Annexed.
