The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Sussex Co., VA, Will Book A, p. 265 abstracted by Matt HARRIS [brackets, line breaks, & surname capitalization mine] [p] 265) [page heading] March Court MDCCLXiij In the Name of God Amen I William OWEN of Albemarle Parish in the County of Sussex being sick & weak of body but of perfect sence & memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same do make & ordain this my last will & testament in manner & form following first of all I recommend my soul to God and my body to the Earth according to the discresion of my Executors hereafter nam'd and as to what worldly Estate which it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give & bequeath in the following manner: Item I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Anna OWEN the use of my negro fellow nam'd Squire during her widowhood & if she should marry then for the said negro to be sold and the money to be laid up for my two sons John & William and I give to my two sons John & William a Gun a piece and I give to my beloved Wife Anna OWEN all my stock such as Cattle, Hogs, Sheep and Horses and all my meal & pease and I give to her also all my household goods during her widowhood and if she should marry then for all the household goods to be divided amongst my six Daughters and I give to my wife Ann OWEN all my lumber such as axes & hoes and the right of the lease of land whereon I now live and I do leave my wife Anna OWEN and her brother Ambros GRIZZARD whole & sole Executors of this my last will & testament revoking & disannulling all other wills made by me. witness my Hand & Seal this twenty seventh Day of November one thousand seven Hundred and sixty two William OWEN (LS) (XO) his Mark Tho.
