I commit my soul into the hands of the almighty given in hopes of a blessed immortality through merits of a blesses redeemer and I desire that my body be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son CORDY PATE and to his heirs all that part of my land purchased of NICHOLAS PRINCE lying on the North side of new road and whereon my said son now lives containing twenty acres be the same more or less for which he is to be accountable to my executors for the sum of twenty pounds, also one feather bed wich he now has in possession, to the value of eight pounds which he is also to account for in the same manner. ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter REBECCAH PATE one feather bed and furniture which she calls hers, for which she is to be accountable for at the price of eight pounds. ITEM. I give and bequeath unto my daughter LUCY PATE one father bed and furniture of her choice at the price of eight pounds which she is also to be accountable for on a general division. ITEM. It is my will and desire that my two sons EDWARD and HARBERT be schooled two years each at the expense of my estate and that my Executors pay for one years schooling for my son EDMUND provides he wishes to go to school if not that they pay him forty shillings in lieu thereof ITEM. As I have made several former gifts to my three sons HARBERT, HARDY and HENRY who are to be responsible for them on a general settlement or division of my estate. I do hereby confirm those gifts already made to them which are as follows - To my son HARBERT one sorrel horse colt, of the value of eight pounds, to my son HARDY one feather bed and furniture of the value of eight pounds. ITEM. It is my will and desire that my Executors retain in their hands ten pounds of my daughter REBECCAH PATES part of my estate which I do hereby give to my grandchild BURREL PATE son of my said daughter REBECCAH PATE and which I do desire may be laid out in his education ITEM. It is my will and desire that my lands be sold by my executors hereafter named who I do hereby vest with full power and authority to sell and convey the same in fee simple to the purchaser or purchasers on such credit as they may judge best. And, I do desire that my two tracts of land be sold separately and not togather, and all the rest of my estate not before given away, I desire may be sold and the money arising from such sale with the amount of legacys before given, be equally divided between all my children to them and their heirs forever LASTLY. I do nominate my three sons HARBERT PATE, HARDY PATE, & CORDY PATE executors to this my las tWill and Testament making and declaring all former wills void, by me heretofore made, and confirming this and no other to by my last Will and Testament.
