IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN.- I Selah Sturdivant of Sussex County being sick and Weak in body but of a sound mind and memory and knowing that it is ordained for all flesh once to die, and calling into mind the worldly Estate it has been please God to bless me with in this life I do give and dispose of the same in the manner and form as follows.- Item. I give to my Daughter Pamelia one Feather bed and furniture and half my wareing apparel and one Chest and half my earthen Ware to her and her heirs forever. Item. I give to my Daughter Polley Sturdivant one Feather bed and furniture and half my wareing apparel, and half my earthen ware to her and her Heirs forever. Item. I give to my Son Pleasant Sturdivant one Cow and one pewter dish, and one pewter plate, to him and his heirs forever. Item. I give to my Son Henry Sturdivant one heifer and two pewter dishes and one pewter plate to him and his heirs forever. Item. I leave and ordain my friend John Smith the Executor to this my last will and testament. I acknowledge this and no other to be my last Will and testament in Witness whereof I have set my Hand and affixed my Seal this eighteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred & three. The last will and testament of Celia Sturdivant dec'd. was presented into Court by John Smith the Exor. therein named, the same was proved by the Oaths of Benjamin Chappell and Frederic Lilly the Witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded. On motion of said Executor who made Oath and gave bond and security agreeably to law, Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate in due form. Teste J.C.
