I Judith Sturdivant of the County of Sussex being weak in body but of sound disposing mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I recommend my Soul to God who gave it me and my body to the earth to be decently buried in a Christian like manner, and as touching such worldly goods as it hath pleased God to bless me with I dispose of them in the following manner Viz't. Item I give and bequeath to George Sturdivant son of Charles Sturdivant the land and plantation whereon my former husband Allen Sturdivant formerly lived, and given by him to me containing by estimation eighty five acres, be the same more or less to him and his heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to Citivia Curtis five pounds Virginia Currency to her and her heirs forever.Item I give and bequeath to my Bro. William Winfield a negro girl named Arget and all the property of mine at his house and now in his possession of what kind soever to him and his heirs forever. Item I give to Elijah Allen Winfield five pounds current money of Virginia to him and his heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to my Brother Ephraim Winfield, all the rest and residue of my estate of what kind soever after my just debts are paid and funeral expences to him and his heirs forever. Lastly I Constitute and appoint my brother William Winfield and William Parham whole and sole Executors of this my last will and testament. The last Will and testament of Judith Sturdivant was presented into Court by William Winfield one of the Ex'ors. therein named the same was proved by the oaths of William Parham and John Parham two of the subscribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of said Exor. who made oath and entered into bond with security conditioned as the Law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form. Teste J.C.
