I Thomas Sturdivant of Sussex County being in sound mind and disposing memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit.- I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth two feather beds and furniture, it is my will and desire that my negro man Osborn be sold at private sale by my Executors and the money arising from the sale I give unto wife I also give unto my wife after paying Thomas K. Neves for his attendance on me while sick and for his trouble for colecting all my interest that is coming to me from the United States for the services rendered the same by my son Robert _. Sturdivant, I also give unto wife one Cow, one Sow with eight pigs, six barrels of corn five chairs and all my Bacon. 2nd. It is my will and desire that at the death of my wife that the above mentioned property be equally divided among my three grand Sons named Edward Evans, Richard Evans and Henry Evans. 3rd. It is my will and desire that all the property that I have of every description whatsoever not will'd away to be sold to the highest bider and after paing all my just debts the balance of the money to return to my wife. 4th. It is my will and desire that there be no apraisment nor inventoty of my estate be returned to Court. 5th. I constitute make and ordain William Adkins and Solomon Graves executors to this my last Will and testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 12th day of February in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and sixteen. Thos. The last will and Testament of Thomas Sturdivant dec'd. was presented into Court by Solomon Graves one of the executors therein named, the same was proved by the oaths of Solomon Graves and Wiliam Adkins two of the subscribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded. And thereupon the said William Adkins and Solomon Graves the Ex'ors. therein named severally appeared in Court and refused to qualify. And on motion of William Shands Jr., who made oath and entered into bond with security conditioned as the Law directs, administration with the will annexed of Thomas Sturdivant dec'd. is granted him in due form.
