Will of Joseph T.Sammons (Will Book R, page 319, Sussex Co.VA.) In The Name of God Amen, I Joseph T.Sammons do make constitute and appoint this instrument of writing to contain my last Will & Testament, In manner and form following.- Item 1st- I give and bequeath unto my brother Allen Sammons, all and singular my property of every kind and description whatsoever, to him and his heirs forever, except my silver whatch (sic), which I give and bequeath unto Eliza(S.?)Magee to her forever. Item 2nd- I appoint my brother Allen Sammons executor to this my last Will and Testament done this 5th day of December 1859 in this County of Sussex and State of Virginia.- In witness whereof I have set my hand and Seal the day and date before written in presence of.- Joseph T.Sammons (Seal) Witness} George W.Wright John Avent A.Partridge At a Court held for Sussex County on the 2nd day of August 1860. The last Will and Testament of Joseph T.Sammons dec'd. was presented into Court and proved by the oaths of George W.Wright two (sic) of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.And at another Court held for the said County of Sussex on the 6th day of September 1860, Allen Sammons the executor therein named appeared into Court and entered into bond with security conditioned as the law directs certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
